Do I need LTL or TL?
Last month we discussed the differences between two terms used in the transportation industry: LTL (Less than Truck Load) and TL (Truck Load). Even understanding the distinction, you may still be wondering which is best for your shipment.
There are several factors to consider:
· Cost. Of course, budget is always a factor, but if it’s more important to save money than to arrive on a specific schedule, LTL may be preferable.
· Size. If the materials you are shipping exceeds 10 pallets or 10,000 pounds, FTL may be required.
· Speed. If your products need to arrive within 10 days, FTL is usually the better option.
· Contents. If your materials aren’t sensitive, LTL is a great choice. But if you’re considered that contents are fragile , we recommend FTL.
The best way to determine what you need is to chat with a transport company. We would be glad to discuss your preferences and develop a solution to meet your needs. Contact us today to get started.
